I've been working on a new pattern for my crochet comic book(and some gaming) characters, it's been a long process but I'm so happy with the result :). When I first made most of my crochet characters I only had a basic pattern and didn't write down any of the details(color changes, accessories), so I decided to update the pattern I was using and also write the patterns for each character individually.
I'm starting with the more recent addition, Spiderman. I received a request for the pattern and since I didn't have one written down, I decided to make one.

single crochet in the next 2 stitches, increase, single crochet in
the next 2 stitches(switch back to blue), increase,
continue in this pattern for row with blue yarn(please note that the spots where you switch colored yarn depends on the placement of the eyes, you want the red to be centered on the chest)
Round 24: Start round with blue yarn, single
crochet in the next 8 stitches(or right up to the last blue of the
last round), switch to red yarn,
single crochet in the next 6 stitches, switch back to
blue yarn, single crochet in the next 10 stitches, repeat
this row 2 more times**
**Note:
If you're not comfortable switching from red to blue so much within
the same rounds simply(from **to **) Ch 16, single crochet in the
second chain from the hook and in each st(15st)
Ch
1, turn, single crochet in each st(15st), repeat another 2 times, sew

the next 3 stitches, single crochet 2 together(decrease), single
crochet in the next 3 stitches, decrease, continue like this for the
row
Place a different color piece of yarn through the front and back of the last round, this marks the separation of the legs
Round 28: Make sure the use another stitch marker to mark where the first round of the first leg begins, Single crochet around for the row, make sure not to go past the center marker which separates the legs
Note:
The most important part to remember when making the legs is to start
both legs with the same amount of stitches(mine were 9 st each)
Round 29-30: Single
crochet for 2 more rows
Round 31: Single
crochet in the next 2 stitches, increase, single crochet in the next

Round 33: Decrease

Slip
stitch into the next stitch, sew closed
Repeat the same pattern for the second leg, join yarn, then begin at round 28. If
there is a space between both legs, sew closed. (I like to find a spot in the body to pull the yarn through(once done sewing the leg ends closed) and knot both yarn ends then hide the knot in the body).

Use black craft thread(or yarn) to create spider web designs on the boots before sewing them on the legs. I sew them on as I find it easier, but they can be removable boots also.
