Crochet Snail Amigurumi Pattern # 2

Crochet snail amigurumi
Crochet snails

Happy Sunday! Since yesterday's little crochet snail project was so cute and easy I decided to make another snail, but with a slightly different pattern. I'm not sure which I like more! Yesterday's snail was made in 2 parts, the body and the shell, today's snail was made all in one part. I just love the many color possibilities! I could make a snail army! :P

Here's is the pattern for crochet snail # 2;

I used a 4.25mm hook

Round 1-   Magic ring(6st)

Round 2-   2 single crochet in every stitch(12st)

Round 3-   Single crochet in the next stitch, increase in the next, single crochet, increase, continue like this for the row

Round 4-6-   Single crochet for 3 rows

Round 7-   Single crochet, decrease, single crochet, decrease, continue like this for the row

Secure in eyes(I used 12mm)
Round 8-   Single crochet, decrease, single crochet, decrease, continue like this for the row

Round 9-20-   Single crochet for 12 rows, switch colors
Round 21-28-   Single crochet for 8 rows, switch colors

Round 29-36-   Single crochet for 8 rows, switch colors,
Round 37-44-   Single crochet for 8 rows, switch colors,

Round 45-52-   Single crochet for 8 rows
Slip stitch in the next stitch, sew closed
Start rolling the from the end to create the shell
Once you have the shell the way you want it sew it in place. I went through the "neck" with yellow yarn through the shell to the inside of the blue part of the shell and back through the center again and out through the neck to secure in place. I did this a few times at different angles to make sure the shell would stay in place.

Antenna (3.25mm hook)
Round 1-   Magic ring(6st)

Round 2-3-   Single crochet for 2 rows

Round 4-   Single crochet in the 2 next stitches, single crochet 2 together in the next(decrease), single crochet in the next 2 stitches

Round 5-6-   Single crochet for 2 rows

Make 2 and sew onto the head.
