Anyway, I woke up this morning with the urge to crochet a hat. After a while of looking at a bunch of different hat examples on Google images I decided to make a fox hat :).
Here's the pattern:
I used a 4.25mm hook, loops and thread yarn
Ch 4, slip stitch into the first chain to make a ring
Round 1- Ch 3(counts as first double crochet), double crochet 11
times, slip stitch into top of ch 3
Round 2- Ch 3, double crochet in the same stitch, 2 double
crochet in every stitch for the row, slip stitch into the top of the
chain 3
Round 3- Ch 3, 2 double crochet in the next(increase), double
crochet in the next stitch, increase, double crochet in the next
stitch, increase, continue like this for the row
Round 4- Ch 3, double crochet in the next stitch, increase,
double crochet in the next 2 stitches, increase, double crochet in
the next 2 stitches, increase, continue like this for the row
Round 5- Ch 3, double crochet in the next 2 stitches, increase,
double crochet in the next 3 stitches, increase, double crochet in
the next 3 stitches, increase, continue like this for the row
Round 7- Ch 3, double crochet in each stitch, slip stitch in the
top of the chain 3
Round 8-12- Repeat round 7
Switch color(white)
Round 13-15- Repeat round 7
If you want ear
flaps:
Fold hat in half at the seem, mark 12 stitches on both
sides(I used different colored yarn), I tend to put the ear flaps a
bit more towards the back of the hat(since I wear glasses)
Ch 3, double crochet in the next 11 stitches
repeat for 3 more rows
Ch 1, skip 1 stitch single crochet in the next, single
crochet until the last 2 stitches, single crochet 2 together
Repeat last row for 3 more rows
With white yarn, join into one of the double crochet stitches at the back
of the hat, single crochet in the same stitch and every stitch
around(including around the ear flaps!)
Nose
Magic ring(6st)
2 Single crochet in the next 2 stitches, single
crochet-ch 2- single crochet in the next, 2 single crochet in the
next 2 stitches, slip stitch in the next
Sew onto hat, slip stitch embroider on eyes
Ears
Front
side
Start with black yarn
Ch 9
Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and
every other chain(8st)
Ch 1, turn, Single crochet row(8st)
Ch 1, turn, skip 1 stitch, single crochet in each stitch
until there are 2 left, decrease
Repeat last row
Ch 1, turn, single crochet row(4st)
Ch 1, turn, skip 1 stitch, single crochet in the next
stitch, decrease
Ch 1, turn, single crochet in the next stitch, slip
stitch in the next
Join orange yarn(or same yarn as hat), single crochet around the top
Make 2
Back
side(all orange)
Ch 11
Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and
every other chain(10st)
Ch 1, turn, Single crochet row(10st)
Ch 1, turn, skip 1 stitch, single crochet in each stitch
until there are 2 left, decrease
Repeat last row
Ch 1, turn, single crochet row
Ch 1, turn, skip 1 stitch, single crochet in each stitch
until there are 2 left, decrease
Ch 1, turn, skip 1 stitch, single crochet in the next
stitch, decrease
Ch 1, turn, single crochet in the next stitch, slip
stitch in the next
Make two, sew onto fronts, sew ears onto top of hat
You're done!
