Crochet Scarf/Cowl and Capelet with Cowl- Patterns

 I decided to take a little break from crocheting amigurumi today and made a crochet scarf/cowl and a crochet capelet with cowl neck. Both are very easy and fairly quick to make. Unfortunately I don't have the best pictures because I don't have a mannequin or bust and I find it a bit difficult to take pictures of myself. But hopefully the instructions will be easy enough to follow!

Crochet scarf/cowl

I used a 6.00mm hook, Bernat Satin yarn

Chain 22,

Row 1- Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and every other stitch for the row(21st)

Row 2- Ch 3, turn, double crochet in the next stitch-double crochet in the same stitch as the chain 3, skip 1 stitch-double crochet in the next stitch-double crochet in the skipped stitch(this is a cross stitch), continue like this for the row, double crochet in the last stitch

Row 3- Ch 3, turn, skip 1 stitch- double crochet in the next stitch-double crochet in the skipped stitch, skip 1 stitch-double crochet in the next- double crochet in the skipped stitch, continue like this for the row

Repeat row 3 for 36 more rows

 

Attach buttons and you're done!

 

 

 

Crochet Capelet with cowl

6.00mm hook, Bernat Satin Sparkle in Platinum

 

Ch 65, single slip stitch into the first chain(make sure not to twist the chain)

 

Round 1- Ch 1, Single crochet in the same stitch and in each stitch around, slip stitch into the first single crochet

 

Round 2- Ch 3, double crochet in the same stitch, double crochet in the next stitch, 2 double crochet in the next(increase), double crochet, increase, continue like this for the row, slip stitch into the stop of the chain 3 to join

Round 3- Ch 3, Double crochet in every stitch for the row, slip stitch into the top of the chain 3 to join

Round 4- repeat round 3

Round 5- Ch 3, Double crochet in the same stitch, double crochet in the next 2 stitches, 2 double crochet(increase) in the next, double crochet in the next 2 stitches, increase, continue like this for the row

Round 6- Ch 3, Double crochet in every stitch for the row, slip stitch into the top of the chain 3 to join

 Round 7-9- Repeat round 6

 

Round 10- Ch 4(counts as first double crochet, ch 1), skip next stitch, double crochet, chain 1, skip next stitch, double crochet, continue like this for the row, slip stitch into top of chain 3, cut off yarn

Round 11- Repeat round 10

(you can skip round 10 and 11 and just do rounds of normal double crochet)

 

Round 12- Ch 3, Double crochet in the chain 1 space, double crochet in the next stitch, double crochet in the next chain 1 space, double crochet in the next stitch, continue like this for the row, slip stitch into top of chain 3

 

Round 13- Ch 3, double crochet in each stitch for the row, slip stitch into top of chain 3 to join

Round 14-18(or for however long you would like it, I make make it a bit longer if I get more of the same yarn)- Repeat round 13

 

Round 19- Join yarn at neck of cowl, single crochet in the same stitch and in every stitch around, slip stitch into first single crochet

 

Round 20- Ch 3, double crochet in every stitch for the row, slip stitch into the top of the chain 3 to join

 

Round 21-29- repeat round 12

Cut off yarn, sew in tail
