I am so addicted to creating these cute little guys, I'm filled with joy every time I finish one! It took a while to get the first few rows of the "head" just right, but the pattern is now complete!
I used a 4.25mm
hook for the head/body, Red Heart Soft in Deep Sea
NOTE: Use a stitch marker or a piece of contrasting yarn to keep track of the rounds
Head/body
Magic ring(6 st)
single crochet for 2 rows
Single crochet in the next st, 2 single crochet in the next(increase), single crochet in the next st, inc in the next, continue for the row
Single crochet row
Single crochet in the next st, 2 single crochet in the next(increase), single crochet in the next st, inc in the next, continue for the row
Repeat
last row(increase row)
Single crochet for 2 rowsSingle crochet in the next 2 st, 2 single crochet in the next st(inc), single crochet in the next 2 st, inc in the next, continue for the row
Single crochet for 8 rows
Single crochet 2 together for the entire round(decrease round), add safety eyes
Single crochet 2 together for the entire row(decrease row)
Sew closed
Fin
Ch 5, single crochet in the second chain from the hook, single crochet in the next ch, half double crochet in next, double crochet in next.
make 2, sew onto top of head
Arms
3.75
mm hook
Ch 20
3 single crochet in the second st from hook, and in the next 3
st, single crochet in each of the rest
Make 8
Make 8
Tentacles 3.75 mm hook
Ch 20
Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in each chain to the end.
In the last chain do as follows, single crochet, half double, 2 double
crochet, chain 1, 2 double crochet, 1 half double, 1 single, slip st
into next st
Make 2
Sew in ends and sew all arms and tentacles to body
You're done! Now you have your very own baby squid amigurumi :). I hope this pattern was helpful!
